I’ve sometimes pondered over if Jonah jumping into the sea was another way of him trying to avoid doing what God wanted him to do. In a sense going so far as to try to die rather than be obedient. Yet God wasn’t going to let Jonah off the hook no matter what. Thus the fish was both an act of grace and a course correction and probably even more
