Such an important question. Are we ready? It is surprising how many long time church goers, especially older men who now have influence over young men, are unable to articulate the Gospel. It would be easy to blame them, but really it represents a deeper more systemic shortfall.
Definitely a good takeaway and something worth pondering.
I pray as a pastor I am faithful with this. I know we have offered classes and opportunities for people to grow that are oftentimes not taken. It's hard to know what to do there when you provide growth opportunities that aren't taken up.
I pray that the gospel is clear enough each Sunday that those who sit under my preaching regularly will have what they need to share it on their own if given the opportunity.
